The nude , as a form of visual art that focuses on the unclothed human figure, is an enduring tradition in Western art. Unclothed figures often also play a part in other types of art, such as history painting , including allegorical and religious art , portraiture , or the decorative arts. From prehistory to the earliest civilizations, nude female figures are generally understood to be symbols of fertility or well-being. Japanese prints are one of the few non-western traditions that can be called nudes, but the activity of communal bathing in Japan is portrayed as just another social activity, without the significance placed upon the lack of clothing that exists in the West. The introductory chapter makes though does not originate the often-quoted distinction between the naked body and the nude. This separation of the artistic form from the social and cultural issues long remained largely unexamined by classical art historians. One of the defining characteristics of the modern era in art was the blurring of the line between the naked and the nude.
We've all seen or heard someone attempting to chat up a potential love interest and edged a little closer to see it turn into a slow and painful catastrophe. Fortunately for us, and unfortunately for these men, we can watch this miserable effort over and over because they've made their move on Facebook. Most tragically of all, the interested parties are hitting on a 19th century painting of a naked woman. The painting - which belongs to an artist called William-Adolphe Bouguereau - was posted on to the Facebook group 'World paintings' in April but it resurfaced when freelance journalist Kitty Wenham tweeted it with the caption 'men hitting on a painting'. The picture is of a young woman who looks like she's drying herself off and it's rather surprisingly titled 'After The Bath'. She is obviously naked, because that's usually how it works when you have a bath. It seems some people couldn't contain their excitement as the comments came in thick and fast with men passing on their numbers to her and asking her to message them on WhatsApp

You see those legs and that butt in the above picture? The incident in question happened in Vienna. The woman in the picture wanted to get a little sun, and in order to maximize her exposure, she decided to open up her window and dangle her legs out. Oblivious, she continued lounging there as traffic slowed and eventually, two gawkers crashed their cars into each other. According to The Daily Mail , the guy who was rear-ended got out of his car and asked the other driver what the hell he was doing.
